"What did she say?"-- How to "Catch" Song Lyrics

Listening to old songs is a pleasant way to learn some new words. Some songs can also help you learn correct rhythm. "Amado Mio" is a lovely song I heard a few weeks ago on the radio. I couldn't understand all of the words, but I wanted to learn this song. Have you ever had this problem?

Here is one way to find the unknown words in a song (= lyrics) and also the name of the song:

1) Find a short phrase (10 words or less) where the words are very clear. In this song, "Love me forever, And let forever begin tonight" is very clear. The last five words are very special.

2) Type the short phrase into Google. Be sure to put quotation marks before and after the phrase. Then add the word lyrics.

Here is a high-quality YouTube version of Amado Mio from a live concert. A lovely song with a great beat! The musicians are interesting to watch, too. The pianist is full of feeling. The only problem: this is great music for dancing! Where are the dancers?

China Forbes is the lead singer of Pink Martini.

I've been using the Internet for about twenty years. There are many useful techniques to find information. If you ask questions the right way, you can get useful and useful answers.
It's a really useful computer tools. Finding song lyrics will be easy and quickly. I practiced listening a song, wrote some lyrics, typed into google , then I got it. I just cost 30 seconds to find all lyrics of song. If everyone can be good at computer skill like finding lyrics by Google, everyone can learn more knowledge on internet. Can teacher be able to teach a computer skill every class ? Thanks a lot.

It took you only 30 seconds? Wow! That's great. I'll try to include more English-language computer tips in class. I'm so happy to know my students can learn useful new skills.

If you have time, a very good way to thank me is to share this web page with your friends. Please tell them to come read it themselves.
I uesd to learn elementary English course at extension education calss in Minhsin college during this summer(July&August). The teacher asked us to learn one English song every week. Then I searched the song I like in the internet. But I only got the music video. So I play the music video and clicked pause step by step in order to wrote down the lyrics. Now after teacher taught us how to check the lyrics, I detects getting lyrics from music video is really a stupit way. I cannot help laughing at myself. Ha... I'm looking forward to learn something new every Sunday form teacher MATTHEWS.

Copying the lyrics from a karaoke-style video is not stupid, but it IS slow. Finding the lyrics by searching on Google is quicker. It may also be more accurate: sometimes karaoke lyrics include mistakes. Please share the address of this web page (copy it from the address bar): ask your friends to come visit. When people leave comments like yours, it encourages me and helps me think of useful suggestions. Thank you!

Yes, radio announcers DO speak fast. Don't feel bad about it. It's my own language, but sometimes even I have trouble understanding what they say. Please share good web pages with your friends and coworkers.
